With relentless Eskom tariff hikes, going solar is now a no-brainer, but the complexity of legislation, quoting and financing presents another barrier. Imvelo Energy integrates solar engineering, construction and financing to remove friction and get your roof generating power faster.
We offer standard financing, lease-to-own, or a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), turning empty roofs into revenue-generating plants that sell discounted power directly to tenants. We guarantee qualifying sites a minimum saving of 10% on your electricity bill from month one, protected by a capped annual escalation rate.
Our goal is to help you beat the grid, securing exponential, compounding savings over the entire useful life of the plant, all without the traditional industry headaches.
Calculate your savings based on your current electricity bill, the term and model of finance.

A variety of factors impact the viability of a solar installation, from roof ownership, electricity bill, roof space and angle, shade, distance from the roof to the distribution board, and peak power usage times.

Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)Pay for what you use
We were paying just over R 61 000 a month to keep this laboratory running. The plant carries almost all of it now, and what we pay Imvelo is less than the bill it replaced, so we were ahead in the first month. The payment moves 8% a year. Eskom moves faster than that, so the gap keeps opening.

We put up no capital. Imvelo built the plant and we pay one fixed figure a month, less than the power and diesel it replaced, so the bill fell in the first month and it transfers to us at the end of the term. Our old costs climbed with the tariff and the diesel price. The payment moves 8% a year, and the gap between the two keeps widening.

*Both figures are calculated the same way: actual measured plant performance, an electricity tariff escalating 11.4% a year, and a lease payment escalating 8%. Where a plant was bought outright, Imvelo’s standard 10-year lease-to-own terms are applied to the same installation. Savings vary with consumption, tariff and credit terms.
To show the range of engineering configurations we build, some imagery on this page features conceptual 3D and AI-rendered designs alongside photographs of completed plant. We build to specification, not to photograph well. For references, or photographs of completed local site handovers, contact our team.
For sites that pass the site visit, yes. It is a term of the agreement: in year one you save at least 10% on your electricity bill for the same consumption on your current tariff. It is a floor, not a forecast, and it is set from plant we have already built and metered. Most sites land well above it. Roof, shade, the cable run and when your load runs decide whether a site qualifies, and where one does not, we tell you before anything is signed.
What if my roof cannot take the weight, or has asbestos?
+
We start with a structural engineer's report, and any corrective work follows from what it finds. That work then becomes a named exclusion in your figure: the cost of the structural work, and the revised saving with it. You choose. Our construction arm does the roof work itself, so it does not need a second contractor or stall the project.
Who owns the plant?
+
Under lease-to-own, the funder holds security until the final payment and the plant then transfers to you for R1. Under a financed purchase it is yours from day one. Under a power purchase agreement we own it for the term and sell you the power. Your tax position and your building decide which one suits, and it is one of the first things we talk about.
What happens if we move premises?
+
The agreement transfers with the property to an incoming occupier who qualifies, or can be settled early on the terms set out in the agreement. We answer this before you sign anything, because every tenant asks it.
What does the finance application involve for me?
+
A mandate letting us apply on your behalf, and one set of documents: audited financials, recent bank statements, FICA, surety and ownership forms, proof of tenure, and twelve months of bills. We collect them once and handle everything from there.
How long does it take?
+
A site visit takes half a day and your Firm Cost Estimate follows within a week. The finance application runs two to three weeks. From there to a generating plant is typically ten to fourteen weeks, depending on grid-connection approval, SSEG and NERSA registrations, and equipment lead times.
Does this deal with load shedding?
+
Battery is sized to your load profile, so a plant can carry you through outages where the numbers support it. But we design for your bill first. A battery that exists only for backup is a cost, not a saving, and we say so.
Can we pay for it outright?
+
Yes. We engineer, procure and build it outright and still show you what the financed version would have cost per month, so the comparison is yours to make. Some clients with strong profits find the financed purchase and the Section 12B allowance work out better. Your accountant will know.
